Victorian State Budget Announcement

In the 2023–24 State Budget, the Victorian Government invested more than $2 billion to build and upgrade schools, including $355.8 million for upgrades at 47 schools. A further 54 schools will also share in the $24 million School Upgrade Delivery Fund and will begin planning for future upgrades, helping students to reach their full potential through enhanced learning opportunities.

I am delighted to confirm as part of this investment, Wallington Primary School will receive $2.1 million to upgrade classroom and learning spaces, including the Main Building.  The project start date is still unknown however I will be contacting the Victorian Schools Building Authority in the next week to begin our next building adventure.  There are great times ahead for our school and the students who will benefit from this announcement.  If you have any questions regarding this investment in our school please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Our Garden Hot House

A huge thank you to Justin Baring who donated materials and his time to build the new seedling station in the hothouse.

Another huge thank you to Simon Parker from Simon & Sons Plumbing who donated his time to install a new irrigation system in the hothouse, new taps, and a new tap system in the outdoor classroom area.  All items purchased for the irrigation system and taps were thanks to everyone who purchased Bulbs through the Bulb Fundraiser.  Thank you to everyone in our community for helping this come true.

Prep 2024 Enrolments

We have begun taking many enrolments for Prep for next year – both from siblings of current students and from new families to Wallington. If you have a child currently attending 4-year-old kindergarten and are looking to enrol them for Prep 2024, please complete the enrolment forms which are available from the General Office or by CLICKING HERE.  Should you (or anyone that you know) be interested in doing a school tour, all you need to do is contact the school.

Assembly will again be held in our hall at 2:50pm tomorrow (Friday, 26th May).  I hear Mr Vaught has something special to show on the TV when students are walking into the hall.

Art Gallery

"This Term the 3/4‘s have been looking at our galaxy in Art! Students were inspired by the picture storybook "Give Me Some Space!" by Philip Bunting - A book about Una, who dreams of a life in Space. Life on Earth is just so so-so. But how will she get there? And will she complete her mission to discover life in Space? We explored images of our galaxy and looked at all the colours and tones we can see. Students also practiced mark making using lines and how this can create tone and texture in our artwork".
