Wallington P.S. Newsletter

Term 1 - Week 1 - 2024

Principal News

Dear Families,

It is with huge excitement that I officially welcome all students and families back to Wallington Primary School for the start of the new year! I have heard many stories of adventures and excitement over the holiday break and it seems that everyone has returned feeling refreshed and ready to go for 2024.

Throughout the last few days, it has been a pleasure meeting the wonderful staff, students and families that make up the Wallington PS community. I look forward to getting to know you all (and remembering all your names!). If you see me around, please do not hesitate to say hello.

I’m certain that everyone will have noticed the amazing new playground that has been built over the holidays. It is now officially open and is understandably receiving heavy traffic during playtimes, as the whole school begins to enjoy what truly is an outstanding and uniquely Wallington design. The natural wood features, recycled materials, and quality workmanship blends beautifully into the surrounds, in keeping with our spectacular natural environment. The school community cannot thank School Council president, Glen Smethurst, enough for donating his time, staff and resources to the project. Glen and his team have worked tirelessly to create this amazing space, that will no doubt provide fun and excitement at Wallington for many years to come.

In staffing news this week, we welcome Carli Davine, who has begun working with her 3/4 class. We also welcome Gaelle Salini, Education Support, who is supporting in 1/2C and is quickly building positive relationships with the students. Gaelle and Carli bring a wealth of positivity and friendliness that is already showing them fitting perfectly into the Wallington School Community.

We will have a short assembly this afternoon to welcome everyone back and introduce the new Year 6 leaders. We will commence at 3pm.

Thank you all for a positive first week!
