Principal News

Dear Families,

 Cross Country

Congratulations to all students who took part in the whole school cross country today. It was a fantastic atmosphere, with students showing great pride in their houses by dressing up in house colours, singing their house songs and chants, and cheering on all competitors. I want express a huge thank you to all staff and volunteers, without which the event would not have been possible. A special thank you also to Mrs Macys for organising the event! The winning house will be announced at assembly tomorrow afternoon.

P&F Welcome Picnic and Working Bee – Friday 15th March

We are very much looking forward to our Welcome Picnic and Working Bee tomorrow, Friday 15th March. Remember that the picnic will begin straight after school on the basketball court and will be closely followed by the Working Bee. The weather forecast is looking fantastic, mid-twenties and sunny, so I hope to see as many members of the school community as possible in attendance.

If you can help with the Working Bee, the majority of the work will be tidying-up and garden jobs. It would be so helpful if anyone taking part could also bring along rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, gloves and other general gardening tools. Thank you in advance.

Year 3/4 – Self Portraits

The 3/4 students have created colourful self-portraits, learning about the proportions of the face and drawing in the guidelines. Smudging pastels on black paper created an aurora around their head and students used sticker letters to create their name. Very impressive 3/4s!

CROSS COUNTRY

Congratulations to all our cross country competitors today and a big thank you to all the staff and families who helped make the event such a success. It was fantastic to see so many of our students get into the house team spirit and dress so colourfully and creatively. The cheering and support for each other; resilience and personal achievements by all students was outstanding.

For some of our 3-6 students, they will now progress to the District Cross Country event on Wednesday 27th March in Geelong. Information for qualifying students will be sent home early next week.

Thank you,
Lisa Macys
