Welcome Back

I hope you have all had a break of some sort and can start to get into the rhythm of the best term of the year!

Return to School Plan

For schools in regional Victoria LGAs that are not on restricted settings, this is as follows:

Key:  X return to onsite five days

With the return of most of our students we will return to staggered finish times next week (Monday 11th October) to ease congestion in the carpark. Staggered finish times:

  • A -H 3:00pm
  • I – Q 3.10pm
  • R - Z 3.20pm

Please note these are the current DET guidelines we are working to as set out in the Schools Operation Guide:

  • Non-Essential Visitors – including parents/carers: Non-essential visitors, including parents and carers, are not permitted onto school grounds
  • QR Code Sign In:  In the rare cases that parents, guardians, and visitors are required to attend to a matter onsite, please sign in using the Service QR Codes available at each of the gates around the school.
  • Face Masks: Along with our staff, parents, guardians, and visitors must wear a face mask at school at all times indoors and outdoors when onsite (unless a lawful exception applies).
  • Physical Distancing: Parents, guardians and visitors must observe physical distancing measures, including at ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ times. A reminder to parents to ‘drop and go’ in the mornings.
  • School Gatherings: All school gatherings such as assemblies and school events are deferred at this time.
  • If arriving late to school or departing early, parents still need to come to the office and sign students in/out.

Asthma

With the upcoming asthma season about to kick in, please ensure your child’s asthma plan (and or anaphylaxis too) is updated as soon as possible and sent to school! Let’s make sure the school has the up-to-date information to help your child if needed.

SunSmart reminders

Time to dust off the SunSmart hats and get them on our heads!!! Please remind your kids that No Hat = No Play. Let’s try to make this happen by the end of the week and for those coming back next week, pop them in school bags now!

SkoolBag App

We will no longer be using the SkoolBag App as part of our communication tools. All communications will now come via email and the Parent Portal App.

This bit is for your kids… please share with them...

Remote learners, keep up the hard work while at home! Be responsible, take ownership of your learning, be kind to your parents and family and challenge yourself. We expect you to be trying your hardest, make mistakes, ask for help, extend your knowledge and have fun too. See you next week.

Parents: THANKS!

Thanks, and more thanks. No other generation has been asked to do what you have been asked to do. Acknowledge that and let it sink in. I sincerely hope you have chosen to find some positives in what we are living through and like us as teachers, reflect on our actions. As we all transition back to work and school, be conscious of your thoughts, emotions and feelings. You and your child will be tired (and possibly grumpy) at the end of the day!

Have a great week everyone and I’m looking forward to seeing the Years 3 & 4 next Tuesday & Wednesday and then Years 5 & 6 on Thursday and Friday.

REMINDER: Wednesday, 20th October 2021- Geelong Cup Public Holiday (NO SCHOOL)
