Principal News

A massive THANK YOU

As many of you are aware, Glen has been on a well-deserved break for the last week and left both Emily Duckett and myself in the chair.  We would both like to say a massive thank you to the school community for making the job of running Wallington Primary School a heartfelt joy.  The students, staff and parents have made the job over the past week a delightful and easy one and it is a pleasure to be a collaborative member of the school community.

This was made particularly evident with the wild weather that we endured on Friday.  Running a school with no electricity, no phones and sluggish toilets had all the ingredients for a difficult day, however, the dedication of our staff, the flexibility of our parents and the resilience of our students made the day run smoothly and without major issue.  For this, I thank you all.

As the Mental health and wellbeing teacher, it would also be amiss of me to not mention how proud I am of our students.  We are coming up to a full 3 weeks of term with all students on site that has been uninterrupted with lockdowns for quite some time.  The students have returned to school and settled into a routine without skipping a beat. Students and staff will continue to work towards the end of year milestones of school life including transition for our 2022 Preps and our senior Grade 6 students and so much more to come in the next 6 weeks.  I encourage all students to have a go and do their best with all of the opportunities presented.

Once again, I thank you all for being a wonderful school community and making the job of principal an easy and joyful one.
