Wallington Strawberry Fair Congratulations!

What an amazing success the Strawberry Fair was on the weekend and what a crowd!  The hard work; the many hours of preparation; and the sense of purpose has made the fair a great success. It is a special community that can pull together successfully an event like the Strawberry Fair and is a testament to the great parents and community we have!  Thank you to everyone who contributed prior to and on the day of the fair.

A special thank you to the organising committee who have been meeting regularly since mid-way through last year and to our co-ordinators:

Thanks also to the team of people who supported our organising committee members.

I would also like to thank the dedicated staff of Wallington PS for their contributions in the lead up to the fair and on the day.

We are still tallying the final profit but it will be a successful year and I will announce the total once all the bills have been received.

Our final meeting will be held on Wednesday  8th June at 6:30pm in the staffroom. If you were a supervisor for an area please make sure you provide feedback on your area to help us improve for 2023.

Student Absences
An SMS notification will be sent to the primary family member’s mobile number at approximately 10am each school morning if your child/children are not at school and their absence is unexplained. Please make sure that you enter your child’s/children’s absence through the SENTRAL Parent Portal prior to 9am on the day of their absence, to ensure you do not receive the text unnecessarily. If you have any questions regarding this message, please call our office on 5250 1841.
Please also note that if your child is arriving late the Department of Education and Training requires a reason, ”late” is not an approved reason.

Principal Conference
On Monday I attended the Principal Conference in Melbourne and as part of the conference, Melinda Williams, in conjunction with 3 other Mental Health & Wellbeing Coordinators, presented the work they have done and are doing in this space. It is a real credit to Mel and the school to be asked to be involved with over 1700 principals attending.

Friday  10th June                 P&F Meeting 9am Hall

Entertainment Memberships
P&F are selling Entertainment Memberships. Memberships are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.  P&F receives 20% commission on memberships sold.  Fantastic for holiday savings on food, entertainment and travel. You can purchase your membership via this link:

Breadbag Recycling Box Now at the Office
Our school will be participating in the wonderwhite recycling rewards program.  The easiest way to do this is to fill one bread bag with approx 14-16 bread bags, then drop this off in the collection bin.  Our aim is to collect 25kg of breadbags, which will get us rewards for our school to redeem new sports equipment.

Pick my Project
We are excited that the Rig-ama-jig which was one of the selected projects from last year has arrived! Look out for it at the imagination station soon. The bat tennis stands have also arrived and we are just waiting on rails and they will also be able to be used.
As a flow on from our “Pick my project”, P&F have decided to run an all year suggestion box!  This is located in one of the drawers opposite the office. Write your suggestion about anything you would like at the school.  This may be equipment or suggestions that P&F may be able to fund or assist with. These will be collected at reviewed at our Monthly P&F meetings. If you are suggesting an “item”, please also include a weblink or attach additional information.

Next Meeting
Will be on Friday 10th June 9am in the school hall.
All welcome to come along for a coffee and chat and see how you can get involved with P&F in 2022. We aim to keep meetings no longer than 1hr in duration.
