Parent-Teacher Interviews

Thank you for making our Parent-Teacher Interviews Day such a success yesterday, we had a good attendance rate which reinforces what a supportive community we have here at Wallington. The PTIs are an opportunity for you to share concerns, ask questions, and generally gain a better insight into your child’s learning and progress. If, however, you were unable to make it to an interview yesterday, please remember you can contact your child’s teacher and make arrangements to see them another time, our doors are always open!

Assembly

We have decided to postpone assemblies for the time being due to the increasing number of positive COVID cases being reported daily at WPS. We will continue to monitor the case numbers and as soon as we believe it is safe enough to have everyone together in the hall, we will resume on-site assemblies. Until then we will conduct assembly over the PA system at school so that special announcements and student awards can continue to be presented.

Breadbag Recycling Box Now at the Office

Our school will be participating in the Wonderwhite recycling rewards program.  The easiest way to do this is to fill one bread bag with other bread bags then drop this off in the collection bin.  Our aim is to collect 25kg of breadbags, which will get us rewards for our school to redeem new sports equipment.

Next Meeting

Will be on Friday 12th August 9am in the hall.
All welcome to come along for a coffee and chat and see how you can get involved with P&F in 2022. We aim to keep meetings no longer than 1hr in duration.
You can keep up to date with our news and information by following us on facebook “WALLINGTON PS PARENTS AND FRIENDS”

3D Felt Donuts - Year 5/6

Following our artist study on Wayne Thiebaud, drawing donuts in 2D with soft pastels, students then created 3D donuts in felt. Year 5/6's cut out a donut pattern, selected either a running stitch or an over stitch to sew the pieces of felt together, adding sprinkles to the icing, and then stuffing it to make it 3D. Students who finished early then designed a plate for their donut.

They look very edible! Great effort!
