Principal News

Swimming

We have had a great start to swimming and the students are learning and having fun. We are really looking forward to seeing their improvement over the next week.

Assembly

Please note that there will be no assembly (or student awards) tomorrow as the Year 5/6's are on an excursion.

Staffing 2023

I am very pleased to announce our specialist and support staff team for next year:

We would like to say thank you to Sophie Giltrap for the fantastic Indonesian program that she has run over the last few years and wish her all the best as she moves on to her next adventure.

We would also like to announce the retirement of Sally Peter. Sally has been an Education Support aide at Wallington for a long time and has assisted numerous children over that time. We will miss her around the place and wish her all the best on the next stage of her life.

Change the Date: Sunday 7th May

Whoops, we accidently scheduled the Fair on Mother’s Day so we are now very pleased to be able to announce that next year’s Strawberry Fair will be on Sunday 7th May.

We will be looking to expand the organising team over the coming weeks.

Recording Absences

When your child is absent/late, please log absences via Sentral rather than email whenever possible.  Sentral is our main app that captures all student data and a history of attendance.

Late attendances will still need to be signed in at the office by a parent/guardian.

Keeping our community COVIDSafe

The Victorian Government, Department of Health Services and The Department of Education continue to have specific guidance in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our local community. We can all do our part in the following ways:

  • Continue good health and hygiene practice by washing hands regularly, coughing or sneezing into your elbow and using hand sanitiser regularly.
  • When unwell it is recommended that you remain home, seek medical advice and undertake a Rapid Antigen Test (these are available at the front office).
  • It is highly recommended that if your child tests positive to COVID-19 that your child isolates for 5 days and returns when symptom free.

For further support please visit the DHS Coronavirus webpage

Year 2s- Initial flags

Year 2 students used a needle and thread to sew a running stitch around a hessian flag. On a piece of felt, students used magiclay to mould the letter of their first name and created a collage of various materials. We created a handle with ribbon and threaded on beads.

They look fantastic, great job Year 2s!
