Principal News

The End of the 2022 School Year

Congratulations on making it to the end of a challenging but rewarding year. This is the first full year we have had since the start of the pandemic and although there were many disruptions due to illness, the resilience and resolve shown by the whole school community has been outstanding.

I want to thank every member of the Wallington school community for their positivity and effort shown this year. I hope that everyone can enjoy a restful and relaxing holiday period and that you all get some downtime.

Graduation

On Tuesday evening we held our Grade 6 Graduation and it was awesome to be able to celebrate our 18 graduates and to farewell their primary school days. Congratulations to you all and thank you to our Grade 6 teachers, Mr Jack Stevens, Ms Jessica Bennett and Mrs Emily Farley for creating such a wonderful night.

Retiring Staff

This year we have seen one of our staff make the big decision to retire from education and take the next big step in their lives. Sally Peter has made a significant contribution to the culture of Wallington PS and has had a wonderful, positive impact on a countless number of students. We hope Sally doesn’t become a stranger and she is always welcome back here. We will miss her around the place.

Thanks

I would also like to say thank you to Mrs Tara Belsar for all the work she has done in the Grade 3/4 team this year. She has stepped into many different roles this year to help us continue our students learning uninterrupted and has done an amazing job getting to know the students and become part of the team. We could not have asked for a better person to help the 3/4s.

School Council 2022

I take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge the work of our School Council throughout this year. It has been a great comfort to know that during this most challenging year they have been there to bounce ideas off and to provide great support to the whole school community.
