Principal's Report
Dear Families,
Wellbeing Day
What an outstanding day we all had on Wednesday’s Wallington Wellbeing Day. Students engaged in an array of lessons and activities, celebrating in their brightly coloured outfits by demonstrating our school values: be respectful, be responsible, and be resilient. The Year 6 students showed exceptional leadership, running games and challenges for multi-aged groups to enjoy. The after-school community games were an extra special chance for parents and carers to engage in the celebrations, showing just how much fun we love to have at our school! Well done everyone on your participation and a huge thank you to the staff and students for their efforts in making Wellbeing Day another huge success!
Parent Teacher Interviews – Bookings will open Monday
Semester 1 Parent-Teacher Interviews will take place on Tuesday 1st July. This will be an important opportunity to discuss your child/ren’s progress with their teacher, particularly in relation to the end of Semester Report.
10-minute time slots will be available throughout the afternoon and early evening. Bookings will open on Monday 16th June at 9:30am (see instructions below).
Semester 1 Student Reports will be made available on Compass Monday 30th June.
New Building – Out of Bounds Area
Just a courtesy message to ask that students and families keep out of the front area behind the bright orange flags and bollards for the time being. Whilst the builders apply the finishing touches to their amazing work, grass seed is being sown, and further work is planned to establish this new space.
People are free to use the lovely new footpath around the western border of the new building (under the new sign) once this is opened. The concrete path will be the boundary for now. Further development is planned, including tidying up the front gardens and installing a new boundary fence over the school holidays. As for the long-term use of this area, plans have begun involving student input, as we seek to make the most of this area in keeping with the rest of the amazing garden improvements across the school.
Painting
Painting will continue into next week, with the current Year 1 and 2 classrooms the next two to be painted. This will happen as soon as Year 1s move into their new classroom, which we are on schedule to do at the start of next week. Year 2 will temporarily relocate to the library while painting takes place. It’s an exciting time – thank you everyone for your patience and cooperation!

STEM & First Nations Studies
Dear Families,
Enjoy watching our latest video from STEM/First Nations classes.
Thankyou to the families who have already donated boxes for our STEM projects, it is much appreciated.
STEM still needs lots of small boxes and shoe boxes over the few weeks. If you also have any old matchbox cars and Lego figures that you would be happy to donate it would also be much appreciated for upcoming activities.

WELLBEING DAY - 11TH JUNE
On Wednesday, students and staff celebrated our school values by dressing up in the school value colours and participating in a range of experiences, most of which were designed by students. Our Year Six leaders did a wonderful job, creating activities for multi-age groups and displayed their leadership skills when running their activity. Students showed Respect, Resilience and Responsibility when trying new activities and working with different people. The Junior School Council leaders worked with Mr Anderson to create a whole school gratitude lesson for the afternoon.
After school, students enjoyed the activities around the school that were run by our amazing staff.
This week’s wellbeing activities:
This week’s activity bulbs on last week's making mistakes activity and asks students to watch a video and reflect on the ways their imperfections make them special.
Try sharing what you love about them and share examples of themes when they’ve shown their character strengths.
Can your child think of ways to fill the buckets of others?
Thankyou to our all Wallington P.S. families for their kind donations of jam and vegemite to our breakfast club.
We would also like to thank the Bogan family for their generous weekly donations of bread from Bakers Delight. We couldn’t do it without you all. Thankyou!
