Dear Families,
Bike Ed – Bellarine Rail Trail
What a pleasure it was to join our 5/6 students on their end-of-program Bike Ed celebratory ride yesterday. Setting off from Drysdale Railway Station, riding all the way to Queenscliff and back, our students rose to the challenge with determination and positivity. Every student who completed all or part of the ride should be incredibly proud of their perseverance and resilience on what was a challenging but fun-filled ride.
A huge thank you to Mr Anderson for organising the event, and to Mr Stevens, Ms Pugh, Ms Angela, Peter and Monica Tullin, Philippa McCarthy, Jessica Muffet, Kat Stamelos, and all other parents and carers who supported the day - whether by transporting bikes, offering to support pick-ups, encouraging students, and helping them give their best!
Colour Run Tomorrow
A reminder that the fun continues tomorrow afternoon with the P&F running the annual Colour Run on the school oval, starting at 2:30pm. Parents and carers are welcome to attend and cheer on the students as they run/walk laps of the oval in this celebratory event. This is a free event and, as it is at school, consent is not required so all students need to do is come in their white clothes and eye protection and be ready for all the fun!
See P&F events below or Compass Newsfeed for more information.
*Note: there will be no assembly tomorrow
2026 – End of Year Picnic
Friday 12th December is the end of year family picnic. Beginning straight after school, we are privileged to have the Wathaurong Cultural Centre attending to conduct an official welcome to country and smoking ceremony, formally welcoming our school community into the space and marking the renewal of the area following our extension work, including the parent-donated new play spaces for all to enjoy!
This will be followed by introductions of 2026 teachers and the opportunity for parents and carers to introduce themselves to their children’s teachers whilst enjoying a picnic overlooking Lake Connewarre, having a look in our beautiful new classrooms, or enjoying a basketball game at the new basketball rings.
Then, finally, the Wallington CFA are excited to be bringing along a special visitor on the back of a fire engine to finish off the afternoon!
Transition Session
Next Tuseday, 9th December, students will spend the morning with their 2026 teachers as they continue getting to know each other. Work is well and truly underway to support each and every student through a smooth and comfortable transition, as we aim to set every student up for a successful year right from the start!
Prep-3 Athletics
Next Thursday, students in Prep, Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3, will take part in the Junior House Athletics Morning on the school oval. This is a great opportunity for junior students to engage in friendly competition and athletics events on behalf of their house. Thank you to Amy Parsons for organising the event and good luck to all P-3 students! See PE section below for more details.

Art
Dear families,
Preps explored Aboriginal artist Judy Watson Napangardi's Hair String art work and how she is known for her joined dot painting. We noticed her use of art elements, colour and 'line'. Students created a collage of paper strips on black paper to represent hair strings and then over the top applied a stamping effect using paint and round sticks. They look fantastic! Well done Preps!
