Principal's Report

Dear Families,

STOMP – Assembly Tomorrow 2:40pm

A reminder that our exciting STOMP incursion is taking place tomorrow! We are all very much looking forward to this annual event, especially the chance to perform in front of the school community in the afternoon.

Families are warmly invited to join us for the afternoon performance on the basketball court at 2:40pm. This is always a highlight of the day, and we encourage you to come along and share in the experience.

To finish, there will even be an opportunity for everyone - students, staff, and families - to get involved in a whole-school dance!

We look forward to seeing you there for what promises to be a fantastic celebration of rhythm, movement, and fun.

Easter Morning Tea, Easter Raffle, Hot Cross Bun Fundraisers – School24

If you haven’t had the chance, don’t forget to log on to School24 to place your orders for our Easter celebrations. Stop Work Action - Tuesday 24th March

Families are reminded that the Australian Education Union has advised of planned industrial action on Tuesday 24 March.

Important information regarding arrangements for this day was shared via Compass News Feed on Wednesday. We ask all families to please refer to that communication for full details.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

Compass Connect – A Simpler Way to Contact Teachers

Earlier this week, we introduced Compass Connect, a new feature within the Compass app that provides a clearer and more streamlined way for families and teachers to communicate.

We strongly encourage all families to use Compass Connect as the preferred method of getting in touch with your child’s teacher, in place of sending messages via Compass email. Compass Connect is easier to manage and supports more consistent communication between home and school.

A few helpful reminders when using Compass Connect:

  • Teachers will aim to respond within 48 hours, during school hours.

  • Please ensure notifications are turned on in your phone settings so you don’t miss any replies.

  • This platform is best for general communication and non-urgent matters.

  • For urgent or time-sensitive issues, please contact the school office directly.

We appreciate your support in using Compass Connect and look forward to continuing to strengthen our home-school communication.

Harmony Week – Splash of Orange Monday 23rd March

This week, our school community is recognising Harmony Day - a time to celebrate Australia’s cultural diversity and to reflect on the message that everyone belongs. Harmony Day provides a valuable opportunity for students to learn about inclusion, respect, and the many cultures that make up our community.

To mark the occasion, our Junior School Council has taken the lead in organising a “splash of orange” day next Monday. Students are invited to wear a touch of orange to school as a symbol of harmony and unity.

This will be supported by a range of classroom activities designed to build understanding, celebrate diversity, and encourage a strong sense of belonging among all students.

We love seeing our school come together to celebrate this important occasion.

PE and Dance

PE /Dance Weekly Snapshot

This week in PE was full of energy and skill‑building across all year levels. Some classes began an exciting introduction to Lacrosse, learning how to throw and catch, scoop ground balls, and move safely with the stick. Students showed great focus as they practised tracking the ball, using soft hands, and stepping through their scoops.

Other year levels worked on catching objects of different sizes and speeds, building confidence in hand–eye coordination, timing, and body positioning. It was fantastic to see students challenging themselves, celebrating small wins, and supporting each other as they developed their fundamental movement skills.

Mrs Ractliffe

Champion of the Week Award

Congratulations to Tyler in Grade 3.

This week’s PE Champion of the Week goes to Tyler for his outstanding effort and determination during our Lacrosse session. Tyler has shown great focus while learning the key skills of the game — catching, throwing, and scooping the ball with control and confidence.

He worked hard to improve his technique, listened carefully to feedback, and kept trying even when the skills became challenging. His positive attitude and willingness to practise made a huge difference, and it was fantastic to see his progress each lesson.

Well done, Tyler — your hard work and persistence make you a true champion!

Breakfast Club runs every Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 8:45am. All students are warmly welcome to come along.

Eating breakfast before school is really important—it helps students concentrate, boosts energy levels, and sets them up for a positive start to the day of learning.

Notice Board

Unexplained absences

Please check Compass for any unexplained absences for your child/s for 2026, if you could put an explanation for each one before the end of term.

An unexplained absence in compass us a record indicating that a student was marked “not present” (absent or late) without a reason entered by a parent/guardian. It means that school is aware the student is missing but not why.

How to Fix: Under the "Attendance" tab, the "Unexplained" tab lists these absences. Parents can select the relevant dates and click "Explain with Note/Approval" to provide a reason.

Why It Matters: Schools are required to ensure they know the safety of students and keep attendance records, requiring a reason for every day a student is absent/late.

If you need any assistance please contact the office.
