I hope that all students in attendance have a wonderful time! Don’t forget to bring along some money – with a range of glow sticks, snacks and drinks on sale (see P&F section below for details).
All funds raised will go towards the purchase of new sports equipment uniquely for lunch time borrowing, as per the Junior School Council’s ideas.

Drama Incursion
On Monday, students from Foundation to Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic opportunity to participate in engaging drama workshops led by a visiting teacher from Drama Victoria. Throughout the sessions, students explored a range of dramatic techniques and performance skills, building confidence, creativity, communication and collaboration while working towards Victorian Curriculum 2.0 Drama learning outcomes.
The workshops complemented and extended the drama learning that takes place at Wallington Primary School. Drama is taught by classroom teachers as part of our Curiosity Curriculum, with learning mapped and sequenced across curriculum cycles.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on nature of the sessions, and staff did too! Staff, including me, had the opportunity to join in and learn from the workshops, gaining valuable insights into effective drama teaching and learning, as well as gaining access to a range of high-quality resources and strategies that will further support classroom learning.
We are grateful to Drama Victoria for providing this enriching experience and helping to further strengthen our drama program, ensuring students continue to benefit from engaging and purposeful learning opportunities in the Arts.
Mid-Year Parent-Teacher Interviews
Bookings for our upcoming Parent-Teacher Interviews will open next Tuesday at 9:00am. I will send through all the supporting information, including times and instructions via Compass Newsfeed. As normal, bookings will be made through Compass.
Please note:
Parent Teacher Interviews for Year 1 – 6 will take place on Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th June.
Parent-Teacher Interviews for Prep students will occur the week prior instead (Wednesday 17th June), as Mrs Taylor will be absent in Week 10.
These interviews are a wonderful chance to reflect on Semester 1, including questions and clarification of Semester Reports, which will be published on Compass prior.
School Photo Day – Next Wednesday
Our annual School Photo Day will take place next Wednesday 10th June. Please remember to place your order online by 4:30pm next Tuesday afternoon (the day before).
We will be working to a carefully planned schedule, with photos commencing from 9:00am sharp. To help the day run smoothly and avoid students missing their allocated photo session, please ensure your child arrives at school on time and ready for the day.
We look forward to capturing another year of memories for our students and school community.
Long Weekend – Monday King’s Birthday Public Holiday
As we look forward to the final three weeks of the semester, I hope that you take the opportunity to rest and enjoy the long weekend and we will see you back at school on Tuesday!

PE and Dance
PE /Dance Weekly Snapshot
PE - The Golf Lab
In PE, students took part in an engaging golf clinic run by The Golf Lab. They learned the fundamentals of a correct grip and stance and practised both putting and driving with a focus on accuracy through target‑based activities. Students showed great enthusiasm as they developed confidence and control in each skill.
Year 2 Dance Snapshot
In Dance, students explored an imaginative unit titled Introduction to Weather and Dance. They learned to identify different weather events and experimented with movements that matched each type. Through the Rain Dance, students used light finger taps and full‑arm motions to mimic changing rainfall. The Sunshine Dance encouraged expansive, open movements, while the Wind Dance focused on gentle swaying and flowing arms. Students finished with the energetic Storm Dance, using strong, sharp actions to represent thunder and lightning. They then worked in small groups to create their own short weather‑themed dance sequences, showcasing creativity and teamwork.

Notice Board
Unexplained absences
Please check Compass for any unexplained absences for your child/s for 2026, if you could put an explanation for each one before the end of term.
An unexplained absence in compass us a record indicating that a student was marked “not present” (absent or late) without a reason entered by a parent/guardian. It means that school is aware the student is missing but not why.
How to Fix: Under the "Attendance" tab, the "Unexplained" tab lists these absences. Parents can select the relevant dates and click "Explain with Note/Approval" to provide a reason.
Why It Matters: Schools are required to ensure they know the safety of students and keep attendance records, requiring a reason for every day a student is absent/late.
If you need any assistance please contact the office.
