Wallington P.S. Newsletter Term 2 Week 11 2025
Upcoming Dates
Principal's Report
Dear Families,
End of Term 2
As we reach the end of another busy and rewarding term, it’s wonderful to reflect on all that our students have experienced. Alongside their classroom learning, students have enjoyed a rich variety of activities including the STOMP incursion and performance, National Simultaneous Storytime, Whole School Wellbeing Day, Pizza Lunch, and tomorrow’s Pyjama Day fundraiser for Story Dogs - just to name a few!
A couple of reminders:
Our End of Term Assembly will take place tomorrow (Friday), starting one hour earlier than usual at 1:50pm.
School will finish at 2:20pm, also one hour earlier than the usual time.
Don’t forget to come dressed in your PJs tomorrow for Pyjama Day and bring a gold coin donation to support the wonderful work of Story Dogs.
Over the past couple of weeks, a large group of students have been working together to build an elaborate river and dam system in the playground, complete with bridges and tunnels. It’s yet another terrific example of the imagination, creativity and teamwork shown by our students, with children from different year levels collaborating and having a fantastic time in the process!
Parent Teacher Interviews
We extend our sincere thanks to all families who participated in this week’s Parent Teacher Interviews. Your engagement plays a vital role in supporting student learning and wellbeing. We deeply value the partnership between school and home. When parents and teachers work together, it creates a powerful support network around each child, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.
We were delighted to see nearly every family attend on Tuesday, with many others also arranging alternative times to connect. These conversations strengthen the shared understanding of your child’s progress, goals, and needs, and help ensure we are working together in the most effective way. Thank you again for your time, commitment, and support.
Building & Painting
A huge thank you to all students, staff, and families for your patience, flexibility, and support as we’ve navigated the exciting upgrades and building works this term. It’s been a mammoth coordinated effort, but the cooperation and positive attitude from everyone involved has made the process as smooth and easy as it could be.
As we head into the final stretch, one last effort is underway in the final days of term and over the school holidays. With all classrooms in the main building now freshly painted, the remaining hallways and office spaces will be completed during the break. Our aim is to have the school looking spick and span and ready to welcome everyone back for a fresh start in Term 3!
Strawberry Fair
As you know, the first edition of the Strawberry Fair newsletter went out earlier this week. If you haven’t had the chance, please do take the time to read through the information. As we go along, preparations will continue and we are so thrilled to be working with so many enthusiastic and generous parent volunteers and community members. Market Stalls and Food Trucks have been contacted this week, with letters of offer and confirmation coming thick and fast. We have several social media gurus who have volunteered to support promotion and organisation of the fair – thank you! We continue to welcome all support in all forms, so don’t hesitate to contact the school for further information.
Happy Holidays!
Term 3 is shaping up to be another exciting one, with plenty of excitement packed into the nine-week term, including the Year 5/6 camp to Kangaroobie, 3/4 camp experience, further excursions, World Book Week celebrations, the Years 3–6 Athletics Day, and the Prep–2 Bunyip Camp!
Have a fun and restful break! We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 21st July for the start of Term 3.

Art Gallery
Year 1 and 2 Geometric Prints
Students discussed what art elements they could see in artist Sonia Dalaunay's paintings. Sonia loved using circular patterns and colour in her art work. Year 1 and 2 students replicated circles by using varied round recycled materials to print with on paper in black paint. Cardboard was used to print straight lines, making patterns and thinking about placement. Before applying colour, we discussed the difference between warm and cool colours and how we can use these colours in our art work. Students painted their artwork in watercolour paint and then used dry pastels for shading. Wonderful work Year 1 and 2!

Wellbeing at Wallington
Congratulations on making it to the end of what has felt like a very long term!
For this week's activity students scan a QR code in their diary and watch a video which asks them to name the emotion shown.
They can then make up their own questions to ask their families or classmates.
