Well done to our lucky Year 5/6 students who attended this week’s adventure to Camp Kangaroobie! Students embraced the challenge of camp life, pushing themselves in new ways and enjoying a wide range of activities – from hikes and games to team challenges and plenty of outdoor fun.
A huge thank you to the dedicated staff who made this experience possible. From planning and coordinating to giving up time away from their own families, their commitment ensured a wonderful camp for our students. Thank you, Mr K-T, Mr Anderson, Mrs Duckett, Angela, Gaelle and Sandra for their efforts and support!

We look forward to seeing all students who choose to dress up, parade in your amazing costumes as we celebrate the wonderful world of books! Students will take part in a range of activities through the day to celebrate, working in multi-age groups as they rotate through different classrooms. If you get a chance, make sure you check-out the World Book Day Door Displays that each class has created for their chosen book.
We will also have a coffee van onsite 8:30am-10:30am.
Parent Opinion Survey – Now Open
As you will have seen, earlier this week I sent out the unique log-in information for this year’s annual Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we strongly encourage and appreciate your participation. All families are invited to participate in the survey.
The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be open until Friday 19 September 2025. The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
Health Reminder
As winter illnesses continue to circulate, we thank families for playing their part in keeping our community safe and well. Following Department of Education and Department of Health policy, children who are unwell should remain at home, in accordance with exclusion periods. These steps ensure that every child has the best chance to learn in a healthy environment.
We greatly appreciate the ongoing support of families in helping students learn important hygiene practices, for example, encouraging handwashing and covering coughs and sneezes. By working together and each doing our part, we can protect the health of our students, staff and families, and continue providing a safe and supportive environment for all.
The Fun Just Keeps Coming!
Next week, we welcome our Prep 2026 students for their first transition session. Then on Friday, it’s Bunyip Camp for the Prep, 1s and 2s - keep practising that Bunyip chant! Note: there will be no assembly next Friday 29th August.
And then there’s 3/4 Camp Experience, P-2 Ecolinc Excursion, Division Athletics, Year 6 Lightning Prem Basketball, P&F Disco, Father’s Day Stall, and Special Lunch all to squeeze in to the final four weeks of a huge Term 3!

Dear Families,
Year 5s - Tribal Masks
We discussed what cultures around the world have tribal masks and what they represent in each culture. Our starting process was designing a mask on paper, sketching ideas for eyes, nose and mouth shapes. Using cardboard, students cut out their tribal mask face shape and used oil sticks to colour the inside, using black pastel around the edge. Students created big shapes to small shapes from cardboard, always thinking about composition (how it looks on the face?) before gluing it down. Some students added feathers or beads to complete their mask. They look fantastic! Great work Year 5s!

Wellbeing at Wallington
Welcome back to Wallington’s weekly wellbeing activities:
Our activity this week is for students to find an object that holds a special meaning for them. Rather than bringing it in, students can draw their object in their diaries to help
prevent the stress of losing a very special object at school.
It’s always lovely to hear stories about the memories and people our students hold dear.
